Hopperlink has grown steadily since its launch in 2021. Prior to its existence, there was no forum of its kind. Members include research scientists, field technicians, non-profit professionals, students, professors, farmers, and officials from intergovernmental organizations like the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and United States Agency for International Development (USAID). HopperLink serves as an online forum for transdisciplinary networking where our members communicate advice. Members post invitations to events, updates on their research projects, invitations to collaborate, and many other opportunities that otherwise would not be shared. The GLI Network also facilitates transdisciplinary exchanges between social and natural scientists, industry professionals, and non-profit organizations, and importantly includes those working on the ground in locust-affected countries. HopperLink is a valuable tool to encourage iterative dialogue among all stakeholders to aid the process of moving intellectual concepts to a practical reality.
